- It’s all about your worldview

Last Updated: 5/6/2012

In other words is the world flat or round and does it even matter?  Do you hold to "The Big Bang Theory” or "Creation”?  Do you believe in "reincarnation” or any kind of "after-life”?  Are you religious?  What do you base your life-decisions on?  Are people inherently good or evil?  Feed a cold, starve a fever, or is it the other way around?

How about: "God said it, I believe it, that settles it!”   Is science your god?  Or your stomach?  Or medicine?  Do you live according to "tradition” or "culture”?  Do you need to "fit in”?  What are your "rules” to live by?

  • "Clean your plate.”
  •  "You have to eat your vegetables before you can have dessert!”
  • "No video games before your homework is done!”
  • "Look both ways before crossing the street!”
  • "Red touch yellow, kill a fellow, Red touch black, friend to Jack”
  • "Leaves of three, leave it be”
  • "Live and let live!”

Or how about:  "Don’t go outside with wet hair or you’ll catch a cold”  How do you think you’re body is supposed to work?  Can you eat/do anything you want?  Is moderation the key?  Where do you find your answers to life’s questions?

My worldview is:  "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth”  Genesis 1:1  I’m not religious, but I am a Christian.  I believe that the Bible is God’s word and I strive to live based on its principles.  I attend a non-demonimal church, and I wouldn’t call myself religious.  I’d call myself a Biblicist.  The Bible has the answers to life’s questions and if I look hard enough, He will illuminate the answers I need.  I like going to church, but I don’t think you HAVE to go.  (My kids would be surprised to hear me say that, because we insist that they all go.)  There is benefit to gathering together.  I believe church is for the believer, and the believer does the work of witnessing to God’s existence, provision, blessings and forgiveness OUTSIDE the church.

I believe that God designed the human body.  He designed it to work in a certain manner, to be fueled and maintained and used for His purposes.  He knit each individual person together within their mother’s womb EXACTLY the way He meant to without mistake.  "Psalm 139: 13-16”  He is the author of Life and controls the moment of death.  He designed the body to heal itself with the proper fuel, rest and lifestyle.  Birth is a normal physiological process (like digestion, and breathing, and circulation) which most times, if left to itself will occur normally by itself.  You don’t NEED a midwife or especially a doctor "just to be safe” or "just in case”.  God is perfectly capable of keeping you safe and accomplishing His purposes without their help.  That is not to say that sometimes medical intervention is not helpful, because it can be.   It just isn’t needed the way our society uses it.  Over 33% of births are surgical in the US.

We also don’t need vaccines to "train” our immune system.  It knows how to work all by itself.  By using vaccines you are bypassing His perfect design.  You are trying to "trick” the immune system and "improve” on the Divine Design.

God didn't "give" us doctors.  Man designed the medical training system, and for the record, it "leaves God and His design" out.  The Bible says that doctors are for the SICK, not the well. (Luke 5:31 "And Jesus answered and said to them, "It is not those who are well who need a physician, but those who are sick.")  And if you consult a physician for something, you don't HAVE to do what they say.  Doctor's orders are a misnomer.  Nobody has to "obey" doctors except nurses and doctor's children.  They are a paid consultant whose opinion you are soliciting.  It is up to you to do the research to see if what they say fits in with your worldview and belief system and is something you choose to implement.  Intervening in a natural process (such as birth) or disrupting a natural defense system (by vaccination) does not line up with Biblical principles.

Just because someone tells you to do something or does it a certain way doesn’t mean you have to copy them.  Just because the majority of people do something one way, doesn't make it right.

Don't consult a physician FIRST....consult God and His word first.  Tune in with your own intuation (which is God-given.)  Please do the research and make your own decisions, NEVERMIND THEM!  After all, who ARE "they” anyway?
