- Reflective and Thankful

Last Updated: 2/2/2013

We're coming up on 4 years since my daughter-in-love's near-fatal accident. So very glad that the Lord spared her life. Sometimes life changes in the blink of an eye. Sometimes it falls in your favor, other times not. But we know that the One who holds the future is always on alert. He never fails. Even when we do not understand or feel that we just cannot go on, He is always there. Sometimes death comes like a "thief in the night" but sometimes we get to cheat death out of his conquest. So happy that this time, death will have to wait. Much love to our Kara, much gratefulness to our Lord.

When she was in the midst of this recovery it was hard to imagine how it would all play out.  It was hard to believe she would one day be well.  Yet, she worked hard, and the Lord was gracious.  I never understand the how's and the why's of who He heals and who winds up going straight to heaven.

Here she was just 3 short months later able to walk down the aisle when our daughter was married.

and then a year later at her own wedding to my son.

with her bridesmaids

and with my son

These life events make this time of year very reflective for me.  Very reflective, and very thankful.  Always wanting to experience this feeling and nevermind the conflicts & cares of daily living.

"The Lord bless you and keep you;  The Lord make His face shine on you, and be gracious to you;  The Lord life up His countenance on you, And give you peace."    Numbers 6:24-26
