- Royal Labor - July 22, 2013

Last Updated: 7/22/2013

Holy moly, goooooood geekers!!!!.... did I actually HEAR THAT CORRECTLY???

*Looks at transcript:  "The duchess is in her first pregnancy, you expect the labor to go longer. How long? Could be anywhere from 6 hours to 26, even 36 hours. It's likely that she started having labor pains overnight and then was driven to the hospital when she realized that the frequency was increasing and the time in between each contraction was decreasing.  Now, how that is progressing in the hospital we're not sure. It is said that she wants a very modern, very natural delivery but for most women when you say natural that can also mean a epidural block to ease the pain of the last parts of pregnancy. That we're waiting to hear."  (For the record - I corrected the misspellings and improper punctuation.)

So let's repeat:  "It is said that she wants a very modern, very natural delivery but for most women when you say natural that can also mean a epidural block to ease the pain of the last parts of pregnancy.".......  pretty sure what she MEANT to say is LABOR....the LAST PARTS of LABOR... but I bet some women would opt for the epidural for the last part of pregnancy too.

IS THAT MODERN??  Pretty sure that the very first birth recorded (as well as any birth that could have been NOT recorded) WAS NATURAL.... Recorded history goes back 5,000 years...give or take a century.

And limiting food/drink to ice-chips?  Not only is that NOT based on any evidence, but it is harmful.  Would you run a marathon without nutrition/hydration?

awwwwww.....natural, normal, semantics.....what difference does it make anyway??

Right?

Just because the birth may be VAGINAL does not make it NATURAL....when was the last time you saw an epidural in NATURE?????

You just can't get there from here.....

Was hoping the Royal couple might have snuck away for a private family birth...

(sorry, but that just amuses me and I've been looking for a way to use it since Gena Kirby showed it to me)
